Honduras Montecillos Natural - Micro-Lot Series
Regular price $19.00Honduras Montecillos Natural is a light roast part of our Micro-Lot Series. These coffees are small-batch, specialty roasts that we only have a limited amount of.
This coffee is processed using the Natural method: farmers hand-pick only ripe cherries at peak maturity, then carefully hand-sort to remove any damaged or unripe/overripe beans. The cherries are then dried on raised beds, patios, or in solar dryers, and are regularly raked to ensure even drying. This method results in a very fruit forward cup with tasting notes including cherry, strawberry, and blueberry, with a medium/full body and overall sweetness.
The producer of this coffee is COMSA (Café Orgánico Marcala Sociedad Anónima), is a leading organic coffee cooperative in Marcala, Honduras, founded in 2001 with over 1,200 smallholder farmers. They produce high-quality Natural-processed SHG EP coffee (Strictly High Grown, European Preparation), grown at 1,300–1,500 meters. Beyond coffee, COMSA runs extensive social and environmental initiatives including organic farming training, experimental plots, on-site production of organic inputs, a recycling program, beekeeping, and the model farm Finca La Fortaleza. They also operate an international school serving cooperative families with progressive, dual-language education and high scholarship coverage.
